Closer Than A Brother

Most of us feel safer when we're around someone we trust. Being alone seems to take that away. But, for the Christian, they are never really alone. Unlike a physical person, God is always present with them. In fact, He is always closer than our family members, because Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

So, the next time a Christian feels unsafe and alone, they should think back to Proverbs 18:24. Deuteronomy 31:8 adds even more comfort and security, "And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed."
