Think Differently

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

It's easy to get caught up in thoughts that do us harm. Thinking about mistakes we've made, the fact that are finances aren't what we would like them to be, and the fact that we have physical and mental health problems, aren't necessarily sinful, but these thoughts can easily trap us into worrying (which we shouldn't do - Matthew 6:25) and losing our joy (Joy is one of the Fruits of the Spirit, which Christians should have, and it means you should have a sense of happiness all the time because you know you are going to heaven. You should even be happy when horrible things happen to you because you know life is temporary, and heaven is perfect and lasts forever.).

Instead of those things, God wants us to think His way (explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com). Also, we should focus on things one at a time. For example, when we wake up, we need to focus on getting ready for work, once we get to work we need to focus on doing our job, once we get home we need to have dinner, do whatever the Holy Spirit is leading us to do (do things to help others or relax), and go to bed and do it all over the next day. The key is to focus on one thing at a time and ignore the thoughts mentioned in the first paragraph.

In addition, when it's time to pay the bills, pay them. If we can't pay rent and are evicted, for example, God let it happen. Whether this means you temporarily become homeless or a friend lends a helping hand, God has a plan and has everything under control. Romans 8:28 adds that something good will come out of it, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
