Jesus said in John 12:24–26, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (This could refer to Jesus’ death on the cross, but the following sentence can also be taken in context with the rest of this passage. If you don’t die out to and leave your old lifestyle behind, you won’t be able to bear good fruit after you pray or make a decision to become a Christian – which is the result of someone who is saved.). He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world (This is someone who gives up every area of their life and every moment and lets Jesus take over every area of their life and every moment after they accept Him as their Savior.
