Justification, Santification, Glorification
 

Three major themes of the New Testament are justication (This means someone becomes a Christian when they trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase their sins and let them into heaven when they leave this world, however, they must be consciously or unconsciously willing to repent before they trust Jesus' shed blood to erase their sins (explained in chapter 1 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com). Justification also means that when someone becomes a Christian, God no longer sees their sin. It is as if they have never sinned.), santification (This refers to the Holy Spirit helping a Christian to think like, talk like, and do the type of things Jesus did more and more over time (This lifestyle is described in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)), and glorification (This is when a Christian finally becomes like Jesus after they leave this world and enter heaven.) The following are some verses on this topic -

 

Ephesians 2:8-10

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. (This is justification. See the note for justification in the first paragraph.) 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (This is santification. See the note for santification in the first paragraph.)

 

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (Verses 9-10 are a list of sins that non-Christians are known to repeatedly commit.)   11And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (Like the Corinthians Paul was writing to, when someone becomes a Christian, they try not to commit the sins they committed before they became a Christian. Once they become a Christian, their sins are washed away, and they are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. After this, they begin a life-long jourany of santification (See the note for santification in the first paragraph.).)

 

Romans 8:29-30

29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (God's goal for every Christian is that they become more and more like Jesus (santification), but they will never be exactly like Jesus until they get to heaven (glorification).) 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. (If someone has truly become a Christian (has been justified, see note for justification in the first paragraph), they will gloried (see note for glorification in the first paragraph).

 

In conclusion, if you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven, etc., but you haven't been living the way chapter 39 of this book -
