Why Jesus Died

Romans 14:7-9

7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. (Everything we do should be to please the Lord and not ourselves.) 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord (Christians should live for the Lord (live the Christian lifestyle - The Christian lifestyle is explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) and not for themselves (live a lifestyle that is opposite from the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)); and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Obviously, Jesus died on the cross to erase our sins, but according to Romans 14:9, He also did that so He could be our Lord. He didn't do that so we could believe in Him and take life easy.  Romans 6:22 proves this, "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." This means that once we have our sins erased, we should become servants to God (live the Christian lifestyle - The Christian lifestyle is explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com). The result of being servants to God is that we live a holy lifestyle, which gives us assurance of our salvation. This means and the final point is that all of this ends in everlasting life in heaven.

(For more information about Jesus' Lordship and it's relation to salvation, see the 6th point of chapter 6, chapter 16, and 8 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)
