How Do We Know?
John 1:12 says, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
The question is, however, how does the person who believes on Jesus’ name know if they have really received Him and became a Christian? Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, " Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." In other words, we can have assurance of our salvation if we do the will of God (how He wants us to live).
