Ephesians 6:1-3
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
For a long time, I thought verse 3 meant that, for the most part, the reason people don't live is because they didn't obey their parents. Although, parents have lived longer and are wiser about how to stay safe and avoid death. If children obey their parents' advice, they avoid things and situations that could end their life early. So, this Mother's Day, Mother indeed knows what's best.
