For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Matthew. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 24

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW

Matthew 24:36-51

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Only God knows when the rapture will happen.) 37But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Not only were the majority of people evil in Noah's day, but they ignored Noah's warning of God's coming judgement. When the flood came, it was too late for them. Jesus is saying that the same thing will happen, but instead of a flood, Jesus will return in the clouds to take Christians out of this world. Like the people in Noah's day had warning that they should repent of their evil and enter the boat when the flood began, people who have been told how they can become Christians but refused to do so, will not have another chance to recieve salvation after Jesus returns in the clouds to take Christians out of this world. Jesus let us know that this could any moment, because it seems the majority of people are evil, eventhough many profess to be Christians. Also, many who haven't prayed to become Christians ignore their urgency to do so. This is more evidence that Jesus' return could be very soon.) 40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. (Eventhough Jesus could return at anytime, He will return at an hour when nobody expects.)

45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. (This refers to Christians who continue to witness to and/or help others.) 48But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Someone may believe they are a Christian and can relax and  live a sinful lifestyle because they don't think Jesus is returning soon, but as you just read, this is a disaster waiting to happen.
