Opening Prayer - Heavenly Father we thank you for the oppertunity to learn about Your Word. We pray that you will help us to understand these verses in Matthew so we can fulfill our purpose in life. May everyone who tunes in this evening receive a blessing from the Christmas music and learn from your Word and be able to apply what we have learned in our daily lives. We're eternally thankful for this ministry, and we pray that we can share these websites with others and many people can begin to have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Matthew. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, or do right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 4

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW

Matthew 4:17

17From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand (If someone wants to go to Heaven when they leave this world, they need to consciously or unconsciously repent.)

This was Jesus' first sermon, and it should not be overlooked. The following two websites give Biblical proof that repentance is involved in someone getting saved - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/nocontridiction and http://chriswaug5.wix.com/theanswer If someone isn’t willing to repent (be willing from that moment on to quit committing actions that God hates, and be willing from that moment on to change and try to do the type of things Jesus did and think the way He thought while He was on the earth (including be willing to live the way Matthew chapters 5-7 teaches), with God helping them change), they aren’t ready to be saved - even though they trust Jesus’ work on the cross to save them.

(Please follow website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/makingsure if you have prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, but you are not living these ways.)

If you have not prayed or made a decision to get saved, and you would like to get saved right now, please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/howtogotoheaven

Matthew 4:18-22

18And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him (Instead of being fishermen, they decided to change their interest and begin leading other people to Christ). 21And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. 22And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

When someone decides to follow (immitate and obey) Jesus, they are deciding to begin living a completly new life. The following two websites explain what it means to follow Jesus, and gives Biblical proof that if someone isn't willing to follow Jesus "from that moment on and for the rest of their life", they are not ready to be saved - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/nocontridiction and http://chriswaug5.wix.com/theanswer

Paragraph 12 (beginning with this sentence, "These are the facts that you need to believe in order to become a Christian.") through the end of this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/howtogotoheaven explains how someone can begin to follow Jesus.

(Please follow website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/makingsure if you have prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, but you are not living these ways.)
