For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Mark. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 2

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MARK

Mark 2:15-17

15And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? (Just like Jesus, Christians shouldn't stay away from sinful people. This doesn't mean that Christians should say, think, and do the sinful things people who aren't Christians say, think, and do, but Christians should show love (they try to help their physical, mental, emotional, financial needs, visit or call them when they are in the hospital, and tell them how they can go to heaven when they leave this world, etc.) and interest towards sinners (For example, Matthew invited his tax collector friends to his house so they could meet Jesus and have their lives changed.). When Christians do this, sinners see that the Christians sincerely care about and want to help their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or financial needs. As a result, the sinners think good thoughts about God (Matthew 5:16), and they want to become Christians too.) 17When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick (Someone who is physically well doesn't need to visit a doctor. In the same way, someone who is a proven Christian doesn't need to pray or make a decision to become a Christian. The publicans and sinners that Jesus ate with were spiritually sick, and they needed Jesus to make them whole by erasing their sins so they could go to heaven when they left this world.): I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (People who refuse to admit that they are sinners, such as the Pharisees in this text, will not become Christians. Jesus died on the cross to erase our sins, but if we think that we don't have sins that need to be erased, there is no hope for us to become a Christian. Notice that Jesus came to call sinners to "repentance". If a sinner isn't willing to repent (be consciously or unconsciously willing to live the type of lifestyle described in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com from this moment on and for the rest of their life), they aren't ready to become a Christian. This concept is described in these websites - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/theanswer and http://chriswaug5.wix.com/nocontridiction)
