For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Mark. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 14

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MARK

Mark 14:32-42

32And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. 33And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch. 35And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. 36And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. (Jesus always did what God wanted Him to do, eventhough it would mean that He would suffer. God hasn't asked Christians to die for the sins of the world, but whenever the Holy Spirit gives them thoughts to help others (See examples of this in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), they should do it instead of doing what they want to do. If you are interested in becoming a Christian, you need to realize that once you pray or make a decision to become a Christian, this is how you will have to live. If you aren't willing to live this way, you aren't ready to become a Christian (Matthew 10:38-39; Luke 14:27-35). Living the Christian lifestyle will be much eaiser, though, if you have an outline like the one presented in chapter 39 of www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) 37And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? 38Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak. (Even trying hard not to fall asleep when the Lord wants us to pray or help others is something we should do.) 39And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words. 40And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him. 41And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 42Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.
