Can That Save?​

People have the idea that they will pray a prayer to believe that Jesus died for their sins so they can go to heaven, but they know they won't do things to help and serve people; they might go to church if they feel like it and pray when things get difficult, though. James reveals that that motive doesn't result in someone becoming a Christian.

 

James 2:14-17 says, "14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone."
