For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Luke 17:11-19

11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: 13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Every leper was healed, because they believed Jesus would heal them if they showed themselves to the priests. On their way, they were healed, but one man received more than physical healing; Jesus forgave and erased his sins (became a Christian). This man's heart was prepared to receive Jesus, because Romans 1:21 reveals, "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." Jesus understood that the man's heart was prepared to receive Him (become a Christian), and Jesus knew the man believed He was the Savior. As a result, Jesus forgave his sins and gave him a future home in heaven. The other men, however, didn't have thankful hearts as described in Romans 1:21, so their hearts weren't prepared to receive Jesus. They more than likely believed Jesus was the Savior, but like many today, they wouldn't have received salvation. They would have believed Jesus was their Savior, but they would have turned from living the Christian lifestyle. This proves someone wasn't a Christian in the first place.
