For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.
Chapter 15
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 15:11-24
11And he said, A certain man had two sons: 12And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living. 13And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living. 14And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. 15And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him. 17And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 19And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. 20And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. 21And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. 22But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: 24For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. (This parable represents a Christian who gives up living for God (Luke 15:13), and when they come to their senses (Luke 15:17-19), they decide to humble them self, admit they have sinned and are tired of doing things their way. The result is that God welcomes them back into fellowship, and heaven celebrates (Luke 15:22-24). Though they gave up living for God for a time, they didn't lose their salvation. Notice the father in this parable never disowned his son, and God doesn't disown true Christians, even though they may give up living for Him for a time.)
(This parable can also represent people before they accept Jesus and become Christians, in that they waste their time and money on what they want (Luke 15:13) (live a lifestyle opposite from the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), and when they come to their senses (Luke 15:17-19), they decide to humble themselves, admit they have sinned and are tired of doing things their way, accept Jesus, and after that, begin to live for Him (Luke 15:20-21) (live a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com). The result is that God welcomes them, and heaven celebrates (Luke 15:22-24).)
