For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Luke 14:25-26

25And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (Jesus isn't saying that we should literally hate our families and ourselves; He is making the point that Christians should be so devoted to loving and following Him (living a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), that it seems like they hate spending time pleasing themselves (living a lifestyle that is opposite from the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) and time with their families in comparison. Although, this doesn't mean that Christians shouldn't spend time with their families. Christians can virtually spend all their time with their families by living the Christian lifestyle with them. If you read chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com you will see that time spent with family doesn't have to be spent conducting Bible study, for example. Chapter 43 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com also practically explains that all family conversations don't have to be about the Bible, for example.)

(These verses and the ones that follow, lay out how someone needs to be willing to begin living after they accept Jesus as their Savior. The Bible is clear that those who aren't willing to begin following Jesus after they accept Jesus as their Savior, aren't ready to become Christians.
