For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 12:8-12
8Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: 9But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God. (Christians shouldn't deny they are Christians and followers of Jesus.) 10And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: 12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
Luke 12:4-7 teaches that Christians should witness to and/or help others when the Holy Spirit gives them thoughts to do so, and this theme carries over for Luke 12:8-12. Since this is the context of these verses, Luke 12:10 seems to mean that if a Christian doesn't help or witness to someone when the Holy Spirit gives them the thought to do so, they have blasphemed Him, and that means they can't be forgiven and are going to hell. This isn't the case, because Christians don't lose their salvation. (See chapter 38 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) Failing to do what the Holy Spirit wants you to do is a sin, but Jesus said in Matthew 12:31 that all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men... The second part of that verse when taken into context with Matthew 12:22-32 and the history of the Pharisees who committed the unpardonable sin (the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit), means that someone can stubbornly and repeatedly chose not to accept Jesus as their Savior a certain number of times, and as a result, be unable to have their sins forgiven. Therefore, Luke 12:10, like Matthew 12:22-32, means that someone can refuse to become a Christian when the Holy Spirit urges them to do so a certain number of times, and they can become unable to have their sins forgiven. Someone, on the other hand, may believe they are a Christian but not really be one. A possible test that would prove this is if they refuse to say they are a follower of Jesus (Luke 12:8-9). Another test is if they are taken before non-Christian authorities and not be given the words to say to them from the Holy Spirit (Luke 12:11-12). People can clearly not be Christians but believe or say they are and never truly repent and accept Jesus as their Savior when the Holy Spirit urges them to do so. After a certain number of times of this, they are in danger of not being able to be forgiven (Luke 12:10). These scenarios seem to line up with the context of Luke 12:4-12.
