For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 11:24-26
24When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. 25And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. 26Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Some people think that these verses mean that you shouldn't cast demons out of people, because the demon will come back with more demons and possess the person again. As a result, the person will be in a worse condition than they were before the first demon was cast out them. This isn't the case, because Jesus casted many demons out of many people; if Jesus knew they would end up in a far worse condition, He wouldn't have cast any demons out of anyone.
However, Jesus was making reference to people who quit committing certain sins (for example, getting drunk), and they relax and think that they are in a good standing with God. But they fail to get busy by beginning to follow Jesus in "all" areas of their life (See chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com for an example of what this looks like.). An example of this from the Old Testament is found in Ezra - The people rid themselves of idolatry, but they didn't begin to replace that by pursuing and obeying God.
