For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 10

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 10:1-16

1After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. 2Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. (Just like in Jesus' day, we need to pray that many Christians will take Jesus' message to those who aren't Christians and tell them how they can become Christians. If you have prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, you should also look for ways to tell people how they can become Christians (Chapters 26-33 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com give advice as to how to do this.) 3Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. (When Christians try to lead others to Jesus, some people will be opposed to that and try to ruin the good work they were trying to do and treat them badly (persecute them). Christians need to be aware of this.) 4Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way. 5And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. 6And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. (Christians who minister to others deserve to be paid for their work.) Go not from house to house. 8And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 10But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. 12But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.

13Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell. (Sodom was a very wicked city in the Old Testament, but they didn't have as much evidence as Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum had that proved they needed to repent and turn their lives over to the Lord. In addition to all of the propheys that were being fulfilled by Jesus, they witnessed Him perform amazing miracles, so they had no excuss not to become Christians. We today also have overwhelming evidence that proves we need to become Christians. Luke 12:47-48 puts it this way, "And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."

This means people who have had a lot of evidence that they need to become Christians and don't take that step, will be punished more in hell than someone who didn't have as much evidence. Therefore, it is extra urgent for you to take that step now before it is too late.)

16He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
