For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 8

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

Luke 8:16-18

16No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. (Just like a candle flame that is covered and doesn't show it's light, a professing Christian who doesn't live the Christian lifestyle (An example of the Christian lifestyle is explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) before others is being useless. When a Christian lives this kind of lifestyle, those who aren't Christians will be attracted to the light (who is Jesus) and want to become Christians. We're told to follow Jesus (imitate and obey Him - Chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com gives an example of how to do this.), and this is how people see what Jesus is like. In John 8:12 Jesus said, "... I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.")  17For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. (Jesus' teaching wasn't meant for His disciples to keep it to themselves; His teaching would eventually spread throughout the world, and that's what happened. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus tells Christians to, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." One way you can do this is to give people the website for this online church.)  18Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. (The more effort Christians use to witness to and help others, the more success they will have in making people's life better. Christians who have studied the Bible and tried very hard to live the way it says to live, will receive even more biblical truth to learn and obey. People who haven't followed this pattern, will receive the opposite.)

If you have prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, but you haven't been living the way this message has explained, please follow chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com
