For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 20:27-40
27Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him, 28Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 29There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children. 30And the second took her to wife, and he died childless. 31And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died. 32Last of all the woman died also.
33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: 35But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: 36Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. (Marriage and death only exist in this life.) 37Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. (Jesus proved that the bodies of Christian's who have died will be resurrected when He gave the example of Moses writing about the burning bush. A long time after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, Moses referred to the Lord as ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.) 38For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him. (Therefore, Moses recognized, along with us, that God is a God of the living, not the dead. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were alive to Him, even though they were dead; Christians, whose dead bodies that will be resurrected, are also alive to God. Thus, Jesus proved to the Sadducees and us that the resurrection of the dead is a reality.) 39Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said. 40And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
