For Wednesday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Luke. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says to not do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.
Chapter 19
THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE

Luke 19:1-10
1And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. (The tax collectors in Jesus' day were notoriously known for over-charging people and would keep the money they over-charged for themselves, which made them rich. Zacchaeus, being the chief tax collector, was extra corrupt. But, as you will see, even someone as sinful as him is able to receive forgiveness and become a Christian.) 3And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. 4And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house. 6And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. (It has been taught that Zacchaeus was converted to Christianity from the limb to the ground. His heart was prepared to receive Jesus, and it showed when he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed a tree in order to see Him in verse 4. Jesus read the preparedness of his heart, and all it took was Jesus' simple words in verse 5 and Zacchaeus' joyful response in verse 6 for him to receive Jesus as his Savior and a future home in heaven. The sheer thought that Jesus knew his name, had to prove to Zacchaeus that Jesus was who He claimed to be.) 7And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. (They didn't understand that someone like Zacchaeus could receive forgiveness and favor with God.) 8And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. (Zacchaeus didn't become a Christian by pledging that he would pay back the people he cheated; this was proof that he became a Christian and was a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) 9And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham. 10For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. (This was Jesus confirming that Zacchaeus had become a Christian.)
