Some Trials Are Extra Worthwhile For Some

Trials (problems with friends, family, co-workers, our jobs, churches, our mental and physical health, etc.) usually don't seem very pleasant when they first arrive, but many priceless things happen when people face trials: those who aren't Christians turn to the Lord in their darkest hours and find Him waiting to forgive their sins and give them joy unspeakable, and after Christians make it through trials without giving up living the Christian lifestyle, they gain assurance of their salvation and become stronger and able to stand up against the next trail they face. More than likely, many Christians gain assurance of their salvation through other circumstances and don't need trials as a way to gain assurance of their salvation. The following will explain this:

First Peter 1:3-9 reveals -

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: 8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Notice that verse 6 teaches that 'if need be' professing Christians face heavy trials that they wouldn't normally face. If they make it through those extreme tests without giving into the temptations to turn away from the Lord and give up living for Him, they will gain assurance of their salvation. On the other hand, if they give up, something should click later on, and they should realize that they weren't really Christians. As a result, they can pray or make decisions to become Christians again and truly receive salvation at that time. These opportunities wouldn't have happened if God hadn't let them face those rare and brutal trials.

If you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven and believed He arose from the dead, etc., but you have quit living the Christian lifestyle, please follow chapter 10 of this book. - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com

If you have not prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, please follow chapter 41 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com
