Set Your Mind On Things Above

Colossians 3:1-4 instructs, " 1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."

The Bible is clear that when someone becomes a Christian, their old life should end and a completely new life should begin (living a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com). While 2 Corinthians 5:17, which is a similar verse to Colossians 3:1-4, means just that, Colossians 3:1-4 highlights someone's affection (or thoughts).

Chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com explains how a Christian should think, but when explaining the verses in Colossians, it is helpful to add that a Christian should avoid worrying about trials they face (problems with friends, family, co-workers, our jobs, churches, our mental and physical health, etc.). There are no trials in heaven, and since that is where a Christian should direct their thoughts, they shouldn't worry about them.

If you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven and believed He arose from the dead, etc., but you haven't been living the way this message has explained, please follow chapter 10 of this book. - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com
