Dying Daily
My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.
I watched a Christian series a while back, and a major tag line they used went something like, "Death, perhaps no other word describes what it means to be a follower of Jesus; we die to ourselves and follow Him." Paul would definitely agree with this, because in 1 Corinthians 15:31 Paul proclaims, "I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily."
Notice Paul said that he rejoiced in Christ Jesus our Lord, and that is followed by 'I die daily'. These two things go hand in hand. When Jesus is your Lord, you will more and more overtime end (die to) your old lifestyle and live the way He wants you to live. It's helpful to note that Paul rejoiced in living this way. So, what does this lifestyle of dying daily look like? Chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com gives an example of this.
