Not Worth The Price

Lying to or about someone in order to get our way is a bad idea. No matter what's at stake, lying in order to win a court case or attempting to get someone fired from their job by lying about them, the temporary 'reward' yields future tragedy.
Matthew 16:26 asks, "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" But, someone (a professing Christian or not) may think they can lie in such ways and ask God to forgive them but never admit their dishonest schemes to authorities. Hebrews 10:26-27 warns, "26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."
