For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 17

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

John 17:13-16

13And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. (Christians should have joy when they read Jesus' words, because they have accepted His words and are going to heaven.) 14I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (True Christians should experience hatred and persecution (people trying to ruin the good they were trying to do for others, treating them unfairly, talking bad about them, etc.) if they live long enough after they accept Jesus as their Savior.) 15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (When people become Christians, God doesn't take them out of this world; He leaves them here so they can influence others to become Christians. The devil, however, tries to stop this, but Christians should rest in the fact that God is in control and helps them when the devil tries to ruin their influence.) 16They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (Christians' beliefs and lifestyles (a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) should be different from those who aren't Christians.
