For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 16

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

John 16:32-33

32Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. (This is a similar instance to when Jesus told Peter that he would deny he knew Him three times. Like the disciples in John 16:32, Peter gained future peace that he was really a Christian after he recalled what Jesus said to him in Luke 22:31-34, "31And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: (He asked God permission to get Peter to deny that he knew Jesus, which is referred to in Luke 22:34.) 32But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: (Jesus prayed to God that Peter would not lose his salvation, and like every prayer of Jesus, God answers. This is the same thing Jesus asks God when true Christians commit sin and/or turn away from the Lord (Romans 8:31-34).) and when thou art converted (ask God to forgive him and come to his senses), strengthen thy brethren. (Remind the disciples that they are still Christians and that they need to turn back to the Lord and spread Jesus' message of salvation.) 33And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. 34And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.)
