For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 2

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

John 2:1-11

1And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: 2And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. 4Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. 5His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. 11This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

To take this passage into context with other passages of the New Testament, see the following paragraph:

Many claim that Jesus’ close disciples were saved when they witnessed Jesus turn water into wine at the marriage of Cana, because John 2:11 says, “This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” I also believe that Jesus’ close disciples were saved at that time, but notice that Jesus’ close disciples were willing to begin following (imitating and obeying) Jesus before they believed on Him and became saved. Since Paul preached repentance before belief and Jesus’ close disciples who changed the world were willing to begin following Jesus before they believed on Him and became saved, why wouldn’t Romans 10:9 (which says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”) not mean if someone isn’t willing for Jesus to become the Lord of their life after they pray or make a decision to become a Christian, they are not ready to believe that Jesus is their Savior and be saved? If you have read chapter 1 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com you will see that repentance, being willing to follow Jesus, and being willing for Jesus to become the Lord of someone’s life basically have the same meaning. Also, see chapter 5 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com for more information.
