For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 14

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

John 14:15-26

15If ye love me, keep my commandments. (A very good way that someone can know if they have become a Christian after they have trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase their sins and let them into heaven and believed He arose from the dead, is if they do what the Bible says to do and don't do what it says not to do.)

16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter (This is the Holy Spirit.), that he may abide with you for ever (Once someone becomes a Christian, the Holy Spirit remains with them forever, and those who don't have the Holy Spirit living in them, don't belong to Christ. (Romans 8:9, "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.") Since these things are true, someone who is truly a Christian doesn't lose their salvation.); 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. (When someone becomes a Christian, the Holy Spirit comes to live in that person, and He helps them to continue to obey Jesus' commandments.) 19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. (The world, which is those who aren't Christians, do not typically live the way the Bible says to live.) 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things (The Holy Ghost (also known as the Holy Spirit) helps Christians understand how to live the way the Bible says to live.), and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
