For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 10

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN

John 10:7-10

7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. (True Christians (sheep) don't ultimately fall for the tricks of false teachers (thieves and robbers) and end up not following Jesus.) 9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved (If someone accepts Jesus (becomes saved), they will go to heaven one day. If you haven't prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, please follow chapter 9 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (Once a person becomes a Christian, they figuratively become Jesus' sheep, and since He is the Good Shepard, He keeps their soul safe from the enemy (the devil and his followers) sending it to hell when they die. Although, Christians will be physically, verbally, and/or mentally attacked by them (persecuted), but their soul is safe with Jesus. Instead of Christians thinking that being persecuted is horrible, 2 Timothy 3:12 teaches that, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus (live a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com after they become a Christian) shall suffer persecution. Matthew 5:10 adds, "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." So, this gives them a way to have assurance of their salvation.) 10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (Even though Christians' lives have problems (persecution for example), Jesus blesses them with the assurance that if they die, they will go to heaven. So, this can definitely brighten any day, and Christians receive joy when they help others and see good results in their lives (bear good fruit). Other examples are receiving answers to prayers and being able to understand how to live the way the Bible teaches, etc.)
