The theme of 1 John is letting people who have prayed or made decisions to become Christians know if they have really became Christians. I have gone through 1 John and found these verses. Some verses, and more particularly, how to apply these verses to your lifestyle are repeated throughout 1 John.
1 John 3:2-3 - If someone has prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, but they don't continue to live a pure lifestyle (live a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), something is wrong.
