A Legend Rests In Peace
My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.
Several days ago, the world lost one of the greatest Christian leaders and preachers in history, Billy Graham. The hours he put in to ministering is staggering, and the results were lives changed on every continent. I was amazed that he was still writing books into his late 90's.
Revelation 14:13 explains that he now gets to rest, "13And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." These verses also teach that after a Christian like Billy Graham goes to heaven, the works they did to minister to others continue to touch the lives of others after they pass on (their works do follow them.).
The problem, though, is when a professing Christian doesn't do good works after they pray or make a decision to become a Christian. For examples of good works, see chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com James 2:26 informs, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
