Opening Prayer - Heavenly Father we thank You for this opportunity to worship You and study Your Word. We're eternally thankful that the Holy Spirit has given us a knowledge about Your Word, the Bible, so that we can help lead other people to Your Son. We're especially thankful for the opportunity to do this series on false teachings. Please help us to not be deceived by these teachings. We pray that everyone who reads or listens to these sermons who are not a Christian will become a Christian. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

False Teachings
The Lord has led me to begin a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.
Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.
False Teaching # 13 -
There isn't an age of accountability.
The Bible's teaching -
2 Samuel 12:21-23 says, "Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread. And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live? But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."
God punished King David by taking his baby son in death because David committed adultery with Bathsheba. When David said, "But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.", he meant that his baby went to Heaven, and he will see him when he dies and goes to Heaven. Children who are too young to know right from wrong (especially babies in David's example) and even adults who were born with mental disabilities who are unable to know right from wrong will go to Heaven too.
False Teaching # 14 -
People who live in jungles who haven't heard how they can become a Christian and children who don't know right from wrong will get to see Jesus when they die and have an oppertunity to believe in Him and go to Heaven.
The Bible's Teaching -
Zechariah 9:9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."
Job 19:25,26 "For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:"
Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
These verses are prophesys in the Old Testament that point to Jesus as the Savior. The people in Old Testament times who had faith in God (An example was Abraham in Genesis 15:6 which says, "And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.") and believed that God would send a Messiah to erase their sins went to Hades when they died. They believed God would do this because they believed many verses like Zechariah 9:9, Job 19:25,26, and Isaiah 53:5. Hebrews 11:13 proves this, and it says, "These (Old Testament believers) all died in faith, not having received the promises (of a Messiah), but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." Hades was a place where Old Testament believers and unbelievers went when they died, but they were seperated by a great gulf. The believers were in Paradise (a place of comfort), and the unbelievers were in hell (a place of torment). Luke 16:19-31 supports this.
After Jesus died on the cross, Jesus' Spirit went to Paradise in order to bring the Old Testament believers out of Paradise and into Heaven.

The reason Jesus went there was to preach the gospel of His atoning death to the Old Testament saints who had died and were waiting there.

When Abraham, Moses, David, Job, and all the other Old Testament saints received the gospel, they simultaneously received Jesus's atonement for their sins.

The Bible verses that support this are -
Ephesians 4:8,9 "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?"
1 Peter 4:6 "For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."
Right now, Jesus is at the right hand of God making intercession for Christians (Romans 8:34). He doesn't do what He did in Ephesians 4:8,9 and 1 Peter 4:6. When children who don't know right from wrong die, they go to Heaven (See False Teaching #13). If someone who lives in a jungle dies, they would have had an oppertunity to become a Christian because of what has been revealed through nature (Romans 1:20 says, "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:") and their conscious being bothered when they sin (Romans 1:19 says, "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.")
After they realize that there's a God, and they are interested and want to know Him, God will make a way for them to know about Jesus and how they can become a Christian - In Jeremiah 29:13 God said, "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." People can realize that God exists, but if they don't care about Him and seek Him with all their heart, they may not have an oppertunity to hear about Jesus.
Several years ago, I heard about an elderly man who was alone at his home, and he wished that someone would tell him how he could become a Christian. Later that day, a man felt that the Lord was leading him to go to this house and witness, and he didn't even know the elderly man. As a result, he lead the elderly man to the Lord! The elderly man searched for God with all his heart, and he found Him (Jeremiah 29:13)!
