Opening Prayer - Heavenly Father we thank You for this opportunity to worship You and study Your Word. We're eternally thankful that the Holy Spirit has given us a knowledge about Your Word, the Bible, so that we can help lead other people to Your Son. We're especially thankful for the opportunity to begin this series on false teachings. Please help us to not be deceived by these teachings. We pray that everyone who reads or listens to these sermons who are not a Christian will become a Christian. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

False Teachings

The Lord has led me to begin a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.

Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.

False Teaching # 6 -

If you have prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, you will go to Heaven. You can't even lose your salvation if you tried.

The Bible's teaching

Mark 13:13 says, "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

It is true that a Christian can not lose their salvation (see http://chriswaug5.wix.com/dec7 and http://chriswaug5.wix.com/dec14), but the thought that a true Christian can live a lifestyle in total rebellion against Jesus, is very false. A true Christian will never give up following (imitating and obeying) Jesus and "never" return to that lifestyle because they will endure unto the end, and that will prove that they are really a Christian (Mark 13:13).

If you have prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, but you have given up following Jesus, please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/makingsure

False Teaching # 7 -

People think that you have to get up in the morning and do this or that, but since we are saved by grace, we don't have to do anything.

The Bible's teaching -

Titus 2:11-15 says, "11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee."

Clearly after reading Titus 2:11-15, you can see that being saved by grace doesn't give Christians the freedom to "do nothing". Someone can pray or make a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase their sins and let them into Heaven, but if there is never a change in the way they live (for example, James 2:26 says, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." and 1 John 2:4 says, "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."), they aren't really a Christian. Notice that Titus 2:15 teaches that Christians have the authority to correct other believers when they fail to live the way Titus 2:11-14 says, and they shouldn't let anyone disregard what they say.

In conclusion, if you have prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, but you haven't been living these ways, please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/makingsure
