False Teachings

The Lord has led me to do a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.

Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.

False Teaching # 42 -

Luke 13:1-5 mean that the wicked people Jesus mentioned needed to repent, but normal people just need to believe that Jesus is their Savior.

The Bible's Teaching -

This is what Luke 13:1-5 record, "1There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent (be willing to stop sinning), ye shall all likewise perish (go to hell)."

To say that only sinners who commit big sins like the people mentioned in Luke 13:1-5 need to repent, and normal people who haven't become Christians don't need to repent, isn't biblical. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:9-10 add, "What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Also, James 2:10 says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." So in God's eyes, all people who aren't Christians are equally bad.

First John 3:10 says, “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.” Someone who does something that is unrighteous is sinning. A similar verse is 1 John 5:18 which states, “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not (This means - does not continually sin on purpose.); but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” So, this verse proves that whosoever is born of God (which means is a Christian) doesn’t continually sin on purpose. It is very possible for someone to trust Jesus’ work on the cross to save them, but if that person never changes with God’s help (repents) and continues to sin like they did before they prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, and it doesn’t bother them (Hebrews12:5–11) – (For more information on this topic, see chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), they wasn’t truly saved. These people more than likely were taught that repentance was just another word for believing that Jesus is the Son of God and their Savior, and as a result, their sins in general didn’t apply. It is, however, possible for a Christian to try their best to stop sinning but not be as successful as they would like to be. (Please see chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)

Chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com explains how to repent and become a Christian.

If you have never prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, and you are willing to repent, please follow chapter 41 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com

Please follow chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com if you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven, etc., but you are not living the way chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com describes.)
