False Teachings

The Lord has led me to do a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.

Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.

False Teaching # 40 -

John (who wrote The Gospel According to John) was so full of the Holy Spirit, that he didn't write any verses about repentance.

The Bible's Teaching -

If you have read chapters 1 and 5 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com you will see that being willing to follow Jesus and being willing for Jesus to become the Lord of your life basically means the same thing as being willing to repent. With this in mind, let us look at the following verses from John.

Jesus said in John 12:24–26, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit (This is referring to Jesus’ death on the cross, but the following sentence can also be taken in context with the rest of this passage. If you don’t die out to and leave your old lifestyle behind you, you won’t be able to bear good fruit after you pray or make a decision to become a Christian – which is the result of someone who is saved.). He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world (This is someone who gives up every area of their life and every moment and lets Jesus take over every area of their life and every moment.) shall keep it unto life eternal (will go to heaven). If any man serve me, let him follow me (You need to be willing “from this moment on” to follow Jesus, and from reading this verse, “serving” (feeding, clothing, giving financial help, and finding shelter for the less fortunate; telling people how to get saved, visiting people in hospitals and jails, and doing acts of kindness, etc.) Jesus is a major part of “following” Jesus.); and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour."

(If you have never prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, and you are willing to live the way that was just described, please follow chapter 41 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)

(Please follow chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com if you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven, etc., but you are not living this way.)

Many people read John 3:16 and say, "Well that's all I need; I'll just close the Book." But after that, John 3:17-21 says, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (So the condemnation, or punishment, for someone who refuses to believe in Jesus is directly related to someone who refuses to quit sinning.) For every one that doeth evil (which means continually sins on purpose and doesn’t want to stop) hateth the light, neither cometh to the light (will not receive Jesus and be saved), lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

So people can believe in Jesus, but if they want to continue to sin the way they have their whole life, they aren't ready to get saved.

Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

John 2:23–25 says, “Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”  In this passage, many people were eagerly following Jesus, but He did not “commit” Himself to them because He knew they were just admiring Him and believing in Him due to the miracles He was performing, but He knew they were not willing to obey Matthew 16:24 by denying themselves (give up what they wanted to do), taking up a cross (be willing to tell people they stand with Jesus, even though they knew that they could suffer much verbal abuse and even be put to death for following Him), and following Him (For instructions on how to begin to follow Jesus, see chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com) (Luke 9:57–62). They weren’t willing for Jesus to truly become the Lord (or controller) of their lives (He takes over every moment and every area of a person’s life, and they must be willing to say and do what the Holy Spirit urges and gives them thoughts to say and do throughout each day.). There are many people who read verses like John 2:23-25, and they immediately say (to themselves and to others) things such as, “Well, those Bible verses can’t be important or mean what they say because John 3:16 means if someone believes in Jesus they will go to heaven.” These kind of people refuse to admit that someone can believe in Jesus, but if they are not consciously or unconsciously (see the 6th point of chapter 6 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com for more explanations) willing to be “committed” (John 2:24) to Him and “follow” (Matthew 16:24) Him “from that moment on and for the rest of their life”, they have the same kind of belief demons have (James 2:19).

(Please follow chapter 10 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com if you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that Jesus is your Savior, or trusted Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into heaven, etc., but you have not been living this way.)
