Opening Prayer - Heavenly Father we thank You for this oppertunity to worship You and study Your Word. We're eternally thankful that the Holy Spirit has given us a knowledge about Your Word, the Bible, so that we can help lead other people to Your Son. We're especially thankful for the oppertunity to begin this series on false teachings. Please help us to not be deceived by these teachings. We pray that everyone who reads or listens to these sermons who are not a Christian will become a Christian. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

False Teachings

The Lord has led me to begin a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.

Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.

False Teaching # 4 -

We don't have to obey all the Ten Commandments. What if we only obey five of them? Jesus loves us too much for us to not really be Christians.

The Bible's teaching

1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."

1 John 3:6-10 "Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not (continuely sins on purpose): whosoever sinneth (continuely sins on purpose) hath not seen him, neither known him (They was never a Christian.). Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin (continuely sins on purpose) is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. Whosoever is born of God (this means whosoever is a Christian) doth not commit sin(continuely sins on purpose); for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God (This means if someone is a Christian, they don't continuely sin on purpose.). In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother (This means if someone is a Christian, they don't continuely sin on purpose, including hating others.)."

If you have prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, but you sin on purpose (For a list of many sins, please see this website - http://www.amazingbible.org/Documents/Bible_Studies/Sin_list_part_6.htm), please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/howtogotoheaven

False Teaching #5 -

We don't need all the fruits of the Spirit.

The Bible's teaching -

Jesus said in John 15:4, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me."
1 John 2:6 says, "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."

Both of these verses use the word 'abide'. This word means to belong to, imitate, or live like Jesus lived, and that is backed by the rest of 1 John 2:6 which says, "walk, even as he walked." If someone hasn't prayed or made a decision to become a Christian and doesn't imitate Jesus' life while He was on the earth (witness to and/or help others, and when they aren't doing that, they try to think about the things of God), they won't be able to bear good fruit. If a person professes to be a Christian, but they don't bear good fruit, they aren't really a Christian (with the exception of people who don't live very long after they become a Christian etc.). Matthew 7:15-20 says, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

The following are examples of good fruit - becoming more holy (someone who sets their old plans of each day aside and spends more of their time doing what God wants them to do and thinking the way He wants them to think) in the way they live (Romans 6:22), sharing their material possessions with other people (Romans 15:28), witnessing to lost people and leading them to the Lord (Romans 1:16), praising the Lord (Hebrews 13:15), answered prayer (1 John 5:14,15), and doing good works (Colossians 1:10). And yes, the fruits of the Spirit (which are Jesus' character traits listed in Galatians 5:22) are good fruit.

When someone tells others that they don't need all the Fruits of the Spirit, they are saying that it is OK if a Christian doesn't imitate Jesus. How could that be when Jesus said in John 10:27,28, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow (imitate and obey) me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand."
