Laugh It Up

My copy and paste feature doesn't keep the words that are supposed to be italicized, so instead of me doing it manually, refer to a Bible to see which words are italicized.

Many will testify that the Bible has all of life's toughest questions answered, in which I agree. But, what about mental health and depression? Proverbs 17:22 reveals, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." In other words, the prescription for feeling depressed is to be happy. This isn't always easy, but laughter is a great way to turn your frown upside down.

It's good to be serious about things, but a constant state of seriousness is bad for your health. If you want to improve your overall health, spend some time in laughter. Laughter isn't a sin; Ecclesiastes 3:4 tells us that there's, "A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;" It's good advice, though, to avoid laughing at things like dirty jokes and perverted things. Ephesians 5:4 says, "Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks."
