Be Strengthened

It's really awesome to see how the Lord blesses us; the feeling is amazing. But blessing us isn't the only thing God wants to do. Second Chronicles 16:9 reveals, "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him..." Christians aren't always totally committed to living for the Lord (living a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), but when they are, He eyes see, and He strengthens them by giving them more ability to live that kind of lifestyle. It's not an easy lifestyle to live, but when the Lord continues to give Christians strength to do so, it becomes much easier and fulfilling.

On the other hand, professing Christians may read this verse from 2 Chronicles and say, "I don't have to be totally committed to living for the Lord, because the only thing I gain from living that lifestyle is that I will be strengthened." That's a very dangerous stance to take, due to the following verses:

Colossians 3:1-4, "1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."

Matthew 12:30, "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad."

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Romans 6:4, "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Perhaps the greatest evidence that a true Christian should live a totally committed lifestyle is explained in Revelation 3:15-16, "15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."
