For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in John. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Acts 9:1-6

1And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. (It was useless for Saul, who later becomes Paul, to resist what Jesus wants him to do for the rest of his life.)  6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? (It seems that Paul was converted to Christianity before he asked this question; Paul fiercely persecuted followers of Jesus, but after hearing Jesus' words, he calls Him Lord and accepts His Lordship over his life by asking Jesus what He wanted him to do.) And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (Since Paul understands that Jesus is the Savior and his Lord, he obeys his Lord's command in the following verses, and the world will be greatly impacted from that moment on. If people never accepted Jesus as their Lord like Paul did (done what He wanted them to do for the rest of their lives (live a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com), the world would be a much darker place. In fact, if everybody only believed Jesus died for their sins and arose from the dead and went back to life as usual, they would have a dead faith: James 2:17 informs, "Even so faith,if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.")
