For Sunday evening services, the Lord has led me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Acts. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

1 Corinthians 4:1-21

1Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. (Christians who explain the Bible and how people can live the way it says to live, should consistently put forth their best efforts.) 3But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. (Christians who minister in such ways shouldn't be caught up in how others evaluate their efforts or how well they themselves believe they minister.) 4For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. (If a Christian tries hard to teach the Bible and help others because they truly want to help and please God, they should have a clear conscience and obey this verse.) 5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. (If a professing Christian helps others for the wrong reasons (reasons different from the previous verses' explanation), God knows and will judge the person. Other Christians shouldn't judge on the matter but leave that to God. If you have prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, but you have been helping others for the wrong reasons, please follow chapter 10 of the pdf file book featured at this website - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com)

6And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. 7For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? (A Christian bragging that their pastor, for example, is better than another pastor should be avoided. God arranges everything; acting as if they found their pastor and benefit from their teaching due to their wise choosing is wrong.)

8Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. 9For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. 10We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. 11Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; 12And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless (A Christian shouldn't respond with hateful words when being spoken to in such ways.); being persecuted, we suffer it (When a Christian is treated badly because of their faith, they should continue to live the Christian lifestyle (a lifestyle similar to the one explained in chapter 39 of the pdf file book featured at this website - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com).): 13Being defamed, we intreat (When lies and words said in order to harm a Christian's reputation are spoken, the Christian should calmly explain the truth.): we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

14I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. (The people Paul addressed hadn't endured horrible treatment for following Christ he had (1 Corinthians 4:11-13), and he warned them not to act as though they deserved praise. Paul wasn't demanding praise from them; he was teaching them not to be proud.) 15For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. 17For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church. (Observing and imitating how a mature Christian lives each day helps a younger Christian know how to follow Christ.) 18Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. 19But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. 20For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. 21What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
